Can we get married at Knockwood?

Currently, we are not licensed by KCC to hold civil ceremonies. You can, however, have a ceremony led by an Independent Celebrant. Please see our Supplier Links page for more details.

Can we bring in our own catering, entertainment, bar, photographer etc.?

We have an amazing group of recommended suppliers that we trust to deliver the very best for you.

Can we use candles at our reception?

Due to Health & Safety, we have made the decision to remove all use of naked flames at Knockwood. This includes fire pits.

​

Can we have Chinese Lanterns at our reception?

Due to our location and the abundance of crops and livestock, we do not allow Chinese lanterns.

​

Does Knockwood have accommodation?

No, Knockwood doesn't offer accommodation. However, there are a number of B&B's and hotels locally.

Can we throw confetti at Knockwood?

We welcome all types of biodegradable confetti, rice, petals and dried flowers. No metallic, paper or crystal confetti please.

Is there car parking at Knockwood?

We have ample off road parking to accommodate all of your guests. Cars may be left over night but they must be collected by 11am the following day.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Although there are no steps at the venue, due to the location, the ground can be uneven so please bear this in mind.

​

Can we leave things at the venue over night?

We recommend that you take all cards, gifts and valuable items with you. You can leave items overnight ready to collect the following morning they are, however, left at your own risk.

Can we smoke at Knockwood?

You may smoke outside of the marquee but, please bear in mind that when the venue isn't being used for receptions, it is animal grazing. Please ensure sufficient ash trays are made available across the venue. Please ask your guests not to smoke in the parking field.

Can we have glass (bottles/decorations)?

You may use glass for table centre pieces and glasses for speeches. We do ask that any drinks bought from the bar are served in plastic due to the nature of the venue.

​

What time does the evening finish?

All amplified music to be off by 11.30pm and the venue to be cleared by 12.30pm. People may leave their cars overnight at their own risk. All cars are to be collected by 11am the following day.

​

Can suppliers visit the venue in advance?

Once your booking is confirmed, suppliers may visit the site but they must pre-book.

​

Can we use table crystals?

We ask that crystals are not used on the tables due to health & Safety. They can play havoc with a guest wearing heals!

​

When can we view Knockwood?

Please either call us or fill out the form on the Contact page and we will contact you to make arrangements. We cannot accommodate pop-in's.

​

We have never planned a wedding before, can you help us?

Here at Knockwood we are all about giving you the free reign to plan your day, your way.

But of course, we can give you some help and pointers along the way.

Can we have balloons at our reception?

Due to our location and the amount of livestock both at the venue and close around, we ask that no latex balloons are used. Weighted helium balloons are welcome inside the marquee.  

​

When do we have access to the site for set up?

When you book Knockwood, you will have exclusive use for the site for three days. This includes set up, your wedding day and take down. Additional days can be accommodated but will incur a small additional fee. Please see the Prices page for more details.

Can we make a provisional booking?

We will hold provisional bookings, free of charge, for 5 days (including weekends).

​

Can we bring our pets?

Although we are a country location, we ask that no pets attend the celebrations. Of course guide dogs are more than welcome. If your pet does need walking or even house sitting for the day, we can recommend One2One Wye Walkies - http://one2onewyewalkies.co.uk/

Will anyone from Knockwood Receptions be present on the day?

Yes, we will be on site as it's our home.

​

Can we have fireworks during our reception?

Unfortunately, we cannot allow fireworks. Due to the large numbers of livestock near our home, we cannot permit fireworks.
